Are you earning Cash Back points on a rewards card from Chase like the Chase Freedom Unlimited or the Chase Ink Cash Business Card? Cash back rewards from Chase can easily be turned into Ultimate Reward points if you also have at least one Chase account that already earns points in the Ultimate Rewards program.
While some travelers love the simplicity of “Cash Back” cards, others value accruing points in a flexible rewards program where they can be redeemed for high value experiences like luxury hotels and expensive flights. By pairing a Chase Ultimate Rewards earning cards like the Chase Sapphire Preferred with a Chase cash back card, you can take advantage of the best of both reward options.
Here’s How It Works:
Every $1 that you earn in Cash Back reward credit from Chase has a value equal to 100 Ultimate Rewards points. According to Chase terms and conditions, as a cardholder you can move these points to another Chase card with Ultimate Rewards belonging to you, your spouse or domestic partner.
The process to transfer Cash Back into Ultimate Rewards points is simple. Just follow these steps:
1. Log in
Log into the Chase Ultimate Rewards website using your account user id and password. You will see a list of all your current cards earning Ultimate Rewards points (or cash back transferable to Ultimate Rewards).

2. Select Your Account
Select the account from which you want to transfer points. In the case of transferring cash back from Chase Freedom or Chase Freedom Unlimited into an Ultimate Rewards earning account, you will select your Freedom card from the list (this process also works with the Chase Cash Business card)

3. Combine Points
Chose the Ultimate Rewards earning account you want to transfer points to (your Chase Sapphire Preferred or Chase Ink Plus most likely) and select continue.

The next screen will ask you how many points you want to transfer. The options are All My Points or Other Amount.
4. Confirm and Submit
You’ll have a chance to review your transaction before you confirm and submit. Viola! You will receive an instant confirmation and your cash back dollars will now be available as Ultimate Rewards points in the account to which you’ve transferred.

5. Use Your Points
When you’re ready to use your points to redeem them for travel you can transfer them from the account where they now reside to one of the 10 Ultimate Rewards airline or hotel partners or redeem them directly in the Chase travel portal. Find these options on the Ultimate Reward site under the Use Points header!
