Dreaming of visiting the Aloha state? Getting to Hawaii using points and miles isn’t as complicated or as expensive as you may think.
In fact, we know of two credit card offers with sign-up bonuses that will have you bound for the big island in no time.
The first card we recommend checking out is the Hawaiian Airlines MasterCard from Barclay Card.
While Hawaiian Airlines charges 40k miles for a return coach saver award between the continental U.S. and Hawaii, credit card holders also receive a 5,000 mile discount on roundtrip award fares. This card member discount brings the cost of a return Hawaii ticket to 35,000 miles—the exact amount you’ll have from your sign up bonus–and the annual fee is only $89!
Of course, there are other benefits to the card including companion discounts, free baggage for the cardholder, and a bonus of 5,000 additional miles if you spend more than $10,000 in a year.

If you aren’t sold on Hawaiian to Hawaii, there’s also a good option of getting to the 50th state using Delta SkyMiles. A return saver award ticket in economy class costs 45,000 miles, plus taxes of $10. (At this price, sunscreen will cost more than your plane ticket!)
There isn’t a single credit card bonus that will get you all the way to your mileage goal of 45,000 miles on Delta if you’re starting with a zero SkyMiles balance, but the Gold Delta SkyMiles card from our partner American Express will certainly get you close.
