Freedom-142x89Link: Chase Freedom Unlimited

There’s another brand-new card in the Chase credit card family worth taking a look at: the Chase Freedom Unlimited.

This cash-back card has no annual fee and earns a flat 1.5% back on all purchases. As an intro offer, Chase will give you a bonus of $150 when you spend $500 in your first three months. Not sure how this compares to other travel rewards earning cards? Here are a few things we think every traveler should know about this new card:

Chase Cash-Back can be turned into Ultimate Rewards

If you value travel rewards points more than cash back, 1 dollar in cash back from Chase can be transformed into 100 Ultimate Rewards points if you also carry a Chase Ultimate Rewards earning credit card such as the Chase Sapphire Preferred Card. The $150 signup bonus from this card, therefore, has the value of 15,000 Ultimate Rewards points which can be transferred to 11 different partner airlines or hotels.

Unlimited Bonuses (No Registration Required)

While the new card bears a lot of similarity to the long-term popular Chase Freedom, there are two big differences that we think stand out to make this a competitive card: Unlimited 1.5% bonuses, and no quarterly category registrations required. You’ll earn 1.5% back everyday on every purchase, there’s no cap on how much you can earn, and you don’t have to register for the added bonus each quarter.

Earn Faster of Everyday Spend

While this card doesn’t have 2x-5x category bonuses like some of the other Chase cards, its 1.5% back makes it a great card for everyday spending—especially when you’re making purchases that normally don’t fall into any of the bonus categories.

Extra Bonuses for Authorized User

When you get the new Chase Freedom Unlimited card and add an authorized user, you will earn an additional $25 cash back bonus when they make a purchase within the first three months! (More free money-or travel rewards!)
